Ramadan Mubarak. Alhamdulillah, the Mercy of Allah prevails, and we are once again in the Holy Month of Ramadan. Ramadan is a time of spiritual renewal as we make efforts to increase our spiritual devotions through prayers, Qur’an reading and good deeds.
Ramadan is also a time of giving, as Prophet Muhammad once said, “It is the month of charity, and a month in which a believer’s sustenance is increased.”
SimplyIslam is pleased to once again adopt the Muslim Kidney Action Association (MKAC) for our Ramadan Charity Basket project. Click here to view photos of last year’s charity project. Shaykh Hisham Kabbani made ziyarah or visitation to the Maqam or shrine of the Grand Saint of Singapore, Habib Nuh Alhabshi, on 10 June 2009. He also delivered a short talk at the Mosque (Masjid Hj Muhammad Salleh), which is located at the foot of the hill where the Maqam resides.
When Prophet Muhammad, salallahu alaihi wasallam, sighted the moon of Rajab, he used to pray to Allah in the following words:
Allahumma barik lana fi Rajab wa Sha’ban wa ballighna Ramadan
O Allah! Make the months of Rajab and Sha’ban blessed for us, and let us reach the month of Ramadan (i.e. prolong our life up to Ramadan, so that we may benefit from its merits and blessings) [Narrated by at-Tabarani and Ahmad]
